Arsenal star Theo Walcott has revealed his relationship with his former team-mate, Mesut Ozan, has “gotten a bit better”.
Ozan, who has been in and out of Arsenal’s starting line-up this season, was injured in the first half of the Gunners’ 4-0 win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the Capital One Cup.
Theo Walcott: “He (Mesut) has improved in that way.
He’s been playing with a bit more energy, and he’s got a better attitude.
It’s not changed anything.
It’ll all come back when the season is over.”
Ozan said the former Gunners captain has helped him improve at the club, and “that’s what I want him to do”.
Walcott has not started the last three matches, having been dropped in favour of Theo Walczak in the opening days of the season.
Ozan says he has spoken to Walcott and Walcott says the former Arsenal captain is “doing great” and “doing what he needs to do to get better”.
“I’m always happy with what I get from him,” Walcott said.
“We’re always talking and we’re working together and it’s all good.”
Walcott is also a long-time Arsenal supporter, having played for the club as a youth player.
“The team is so strong, and the team is doing well, and we want to keep improving and I hope it gets better,” he said.
“I think that’s what we want.
The best players want to do that, so we need to do it.”
